Cry the Beloved Mother - A Poem
Any mother would cry if her children turned on her the way we have. Stuck knives into her skin and bled her from the inside out.
Clawed her skin from her bones and burnt her veins with our acid touch. Yet we still have the nerve to call her home.
When she speaks to us with anger
We act surprised playing innocent.

Kia Kaha! Bullying and NZ Police
In his latest blog on 31 May 2012, NZ Police Commissioner, Peter Marshall announced the NZ Police had “A Culture To Be Proud Of.” Commenting on a previous report about NZ Police in 2010, he says, “ It’s worlds away from the previous report, released in late 2010. Gone are unflattering comments about Police culture; instead we read: “The record of performance and the culture of Police are something of which New Zealanders can be proud.”

Raven - A Poem from the Heart
One of our deepest soul expression is through the heart of poetry. For me, this is such a poem. I have read it several times and each time, moves me profoundly. It conveys deep sadness, grief, desperate longing and despair – yet amidst the hopelessness, a bitter-sweet prayer of gratitude for being alive. I share this poem with you. It will touch your heart.
The poet is my beloved young daughter Amber, haunted by the death of her friend, who hung herself at 14 years old. Amber will never know if she could have done more to help her friend. Poetry is her way of healing and coping with some of life’s traumas, trials and tribulations, and from her own painful experiences of being emotionally bullied, labelled and name called at school.

The Gift of Empathy
I want to give you the gift of empathy
And to rid myself of lifeless thought limiting what I see
It's taken me a while but I've come to see at last
How much I miss the present with eyes fogged by the past
So if I take some time before I answer you
I am clearing away my projections
so your divinity can come through
~ Dr Marshall Rosenberg ~

In the 21st century we are beginning to see that living in right relationship with ourselves, each other and all the kingdoms of nature will become not a choice, but a necessity, for the survival and sustainability of all life on Mother Earth; and to end poverty and war as a scourge on our planet, an unnatural state of being, on our evolutionary journey. We yearn for a new livingness which will demonstrate our true nature as souls in incarnation, a new paradigm which will enable our conscious shift from a culture of violence to a culture of peace. We recognise with growing awareness and urgency that peace begins with each one of us.

Pink Shirt Day NZ
Today on Friday 18 May 2012, Aotearoa New Zealand celebrated Pink Shirt Day. Although it’s not yet easily remembered or fully recognized in mainstream public awareness and perception, the
NZ Media has given it some focus and attention in today’s regional newspapers.
"Students around New Zealand have celebrated diversity through their public support of Pink Shirt Day today. Pink Shirt Day is a national campaign that aims to combat bullying and promote positive relationships.... On a national level, the event seeks to prevent bullying throughout campuses and workplaces. It particularly targets bullying toward LGBT people."

The Field
~ Rumi ~

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field.
I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase
each other
doesn't make any sense.
Rumi (Sufi Mystic)
